Role Purpose:-

An operational role, focusing on technical analysis and timely resolution, providing technical skills to resolve all service issues within agreed Service Level Agreements, ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained.  The Compute Engineer will ensure that the customer infrastructures are understood, and provide support to further enhance stability, making changes to the infrastructure using agreed business processes and best practice. The role requires a strong knowledge in one or more of the technologies listed under the technical competencies

Key Accountabilities:-

• Delivery of technical support during core hours for managed compute infrastructure devices and systems
•  Planning, assessment and implementation of change requests
• Assist incident resolution teams to restore service in complex cross-technology environments. Determine root cause
• SLA % fix
• Mean Time To Restore (MTTR)
• Delivery on Time (change assessment and implementations
• Define and embed consistent operational processes to support on-going activities, driving improvements where issues are identified
• Work with external customers to define requirements, solve technical issues and provide professional services

Desired Profile:-

• Strong experience in supporting large, complex, heavily virtualised environments using multiple operating systems
• Strong experience of
• VMware vSphere 4.x/5.x
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x/6.x
• Cisco UCS infrastructure
• Understanding of:
• Storage fabric and infrastructure
• Networking/Switching
• Load Balancing
• Strong analytical and documentation skills

Education/ Technical/ Functional Qualifications and/or Professional Certifications:-

• Professional level qualification/certification i.e., industry recognised programme  and/or degree-level education
• ITIL V3 awareness
